Due to my continued health issuses no classes are scheduled at this time.

Is anyone interested in a Making the Most of Ravelry workshop? I’m thinking of scheduling one but need some input as to day of week & time of day that would be most convenient.

Crochet Socks. Don’t let the knitters have all the fun! Crocheted socks are fun to make, small projects for summer crafting. Cost is $20 + supplies. Date for next series of classes under consideration. What ones are good for you?

Introduction to Hairpin Lace. Basic knowledge of crochet chain and single crochet stitches required. You can get amazing results with this technique! Cost $10 + supplies. There are two practice looms available to use free and additional looms available for purchase. New dates to be announced.

Adapting a Pattern. Also know as “The Dishcloth Baby Blanket”, for both knitters and crocheters. If you’re bored with the baby blanket patterns you’ve been using but haven’t found new ones you want to try, choose a dishcloth pattern you like and we’ll turn it into a pattern for a baby blanket, or a bib, or a burp cloth, even an adult afghan. Is anyone interested in another session of this one? Class Fee $10.

SOCKS!  Date for new class not yet determined. Please contact shop if interested.  Learn to knit two socks at the same time on the Magic Loop.  We will be using the book 2-at-a-time socks by Melissa Morgan-Oakes and will make two sampler size socks to learn the technique.  Supplies:  approx 75 yds each of two colors sock (fingering) weight yarn, a 40″ circular needle with very flexible cable in size 1 or 2, and the book.  A class kit (book, needle, yarn for sample socks) is available for $20.  Maximum 4 people.  Fee:  $20 + book & supplies.

On the subject of socks: I’ve had a request to do toe up socks and another request from someone interested in socks on the Magic Loop but intimidated by the idea of two at a time socks. I’d appreciate feedback as to what you want in the way of socks.

KNITTING WORKSHOP:   Anyone interested in this one?  Review stitches & techniques, review increases & decreases, discuss pattern reading; bring your questions.  $10/session.

KNIT GLOVES:  Watch for late summer or early fall date.  Learn to knit nearly seamless gloves flat.  Supplies needed: approx. 200 yds of worsted weight yarn, size 4 knitting needles, an extra needle size 2 or 3 (short circular works best), smooth contrasting yarn or thread for flexible stitch holders.  Maximum of 4 participants.  Fee:  $15 + supplies.

Prayer Shawls?  Is anyone within reasonable distance of Pittsburg interested in either knitting or crocheting prayer shawls?  There would be no fee for participation in this group.

I am interested in the prayer shawl, I would also to make the sweetheart afghan. Can you send me the instructions for the small blanket. I am printing off your schedule. I am hoping to make it to some classes. I would also like to attend the knitting and crotchet workshops, just trying to figure when I can add them into my schedule. Maybe one at a time.

Thanks so much, you do beautiful work. Sorry I missed you at the Chat and Craft in Joplin, but I was away on vacation at the time. Hope to see you soon, and if you can email or mail those instructions that would be great.

    Thanks again.

    Hi, Honeybunny!
I believe I met your daughter at the Chat n Craft, she is a sweet young lady. The pattern for the sweetheart afghan is a copyrighted one in a magazine – I believe I have two copies of that issue left; if you already have the magazine, I’ll be glad to share the math for reducing the size. I’m debating coming back to the Chat n Craft for the April hairpin lace class; I’ve seen the technique done once but never tried it myself.

I’m a crocheter who never learned to knit – will you have any classes?

Hi, Kris. I’ve had such poor turn out for classes I don’t even know if I’ll start offering them again. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be teaching / helping people develop their skills. Come on by sometime and we’ll talk about it.
